As part of this year’s farm safety week, last night we attended the farm safety event at Hodgson's in Tarporley, which was organised by both NFU and Cheshire YFC (25th July).
Andrew, Tim and Stewart all talked to various groups throughout the evening about trailer and telehandler safety. We can certainly say many farmers picked up some valuable and incentive points.
Interestingly, we found out that not many people knew it is illegal to have an attachment on the front of a telehandler whilst driving on the road. Hence why spreading awareness is vitally important to improving safety on the farm, especially if we are going to reduce the number of fatalities/injuries associated with agriculture.
Overall, we had a great evening and would like to thank the Hodgson family, NFU and Cheshire YFC for organising such a great event. The barbecue was fantastic, and it was great to catch up with many local customers and organisations supporting a very worthwhile occasion.
